Greetings Culinary, Hospitality, & Pastry Students and Alumni-
All of the fun is about to begin! This newsletter is dedicated to the events and volunteer opportunities for YOU this fall. To the right you will find events we invite you to attend andbelow in the save the date section please find volunteer opportunities. Feel free to sign up in person (sheets on the demo theatre doors) or email Nicolette ( to sign up or if you have any questions. Please take advantage of these planned activities! Your continued interest and participation in these events are the driving force in our relationship with the community. It is exciting to see and hear you ask about volunteer events and we cannot thank you enough for your dedication to learn and experience through giving back.

Visit South Jersey has reached out for assistance at several events in our local area for volunteers to represent our area and to pour local beer and wine. More info can be found on the job board. Please email Nicolette for details.

BBQ at The Culinary Arts Center

Join us in the Grand Reopening of The Culinary Arts Center! We will be providing traditional BBQ food for the community during this celebration.

Wegmans Workshop
Monday, October 30, 2017
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Wegmans is presenting a workshop covering a variety of workplace topics including interviewing skills and tips at The Culinary Arts Center!

Fall Opportunity Fair

Arts Showcase of Rowan College at Burlington County

We are looking for students to demonstrate their culinary skills at this second annual event being held at The Enterprise Center. The event is looking to bring together the college arts departments and showcase them to our community. Last year was a great success because of all of you who dedicated your time to participate and we are looking forward to working with you again!

A fun opportunity for you to showcase your hospitality and culinary skills. Please reach out if you have interest in volunteering at this annual event. We are looking for students to assist with ice carving, preparing chili, cooking demos, and many other opportunities.

Chef James has been named The Director of The Culinary Arts and Pastry Program after being the interim director of the program since August 2016. Next time you see him tell him, Congrats! He is very excited to formally lead all of you in the semesters that follow.

Making Moves

Our students and alumni are making connections not only for themselves but for all future and current students looking to work in the industry.

Gino Marella has been hired as a Chef at Jose Garces Distrito concept in Moorestown.

BobbieLyn String, who has recently graduated from our hospitality program, has secured a job as the Beer Garden Supervisor at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Another hospitality student, Jenutia Lobster, is part of the opening team at Springhill Suites in Mount Laurel as a Guest Services Representative.

Katie Hood is the newest RCBC culinary student to secure a job at Wegmans.

Big names in the industry including the Garces Group and the Borgata have recently reached out to recruit more of our students/alumni. Please let us know if you are interested in a job!

In attempts to communicate effectively with alumni of the hospitality, culinary, and pastry programs please email and provide an alternative email address (other than your RCBC email). Alumni Update from Rhode Island

“I am pleased to announce that I am currently attending JWU in Providence, RI! I am enrolled in the competitive Culinary Nutrition program and I am on course to graduate Spring 2018 with a Bachelor's of Science! I am also currently working at the Providence Marriott Downtown as a server in the Bluefin Grille. I hope to keep in touch as an alumni from RCBC!” –Kimmee Werosta CUL ‘16
