Rowan College at Burlington County offers a comprehensive, green degree in Alternative Energy Technologies.

This program is designed to prepare students to move directly into the solar energy or building energy auditing workforce with a broad, hands-on education approach. Students will be exposed to various alternative energy technologies with a concentration on solar photovoltaic systems, energy auditing and retrofits, and energy storage and microgrids. The college works with an industry advisory board to ensure that skills acquired in this program are relevant in today's job market.

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • Assess building energy use and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in solar photovoltaic technology, including site evaluation and system installation.
  • Understand the business side of energy, including project management and entrepreneurship.
  • Apply knowledge to understand future advanced technology and trends in energy.
