Barons pick up post-season honors for Division I Region XIX and Division I Garden State Athletic Conference men's and women's soccer

Rowan College at Burlington County’s men’s and women’s soccer players captured post-season Region XIX Division I and Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Division I honors.

Mario Arroyo, of Madrid, Spain, who was Region XIX Division I Player of the Year last season, is 31st in the nation with 12 goals. He was named to the First Team 2018 Division I Men’s Soccer All Region XIX and the 2018 Division I Men’s Soccer All-GSAC Team. Barons Guillermo Duque and Juan Jesus Quintana, both of Malaga, Spain, also received First Team Division I Region XIX and All-GSAC honors. Taking Second Team Division I All Region XIX honors were brothers Tyler Kazmierowicz and Dylan Kazmierowicz, of Hainesport. Manuel Mutis, a freshman from Bogota, Columbia, earned All-GSAC honors.

Lady Barons Cassie Kennedy, of Delran, Amila Smajlovic, of Delran, and Gabby Perry, of Pemberton, were named to the First Team 2018 Division I Women’s Soccer All Region XIX and First Team 2018 Division I Women’s Soccer All-GSAC. Mackenizie Santucci, of Columbus, took Second Team Division I All-Region XIX and Second Team Division I All-GSAC honors.

The Lady Barons ended their season with an 8-6 overall record and 3-2 in Region XIX. Entering the Region XIX tournament, they are the No. 3 seed team. They will play the second seed team, Sussex County Community College in Frankford, NJ, on Saturday, Oct. 20 at noon.

Men's soccer ended their regular season with a 7-1 overall record and a 3-2 Region XIX record. They also enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face the second seed team from Mercer County Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. in West Windsor.
