The Rowan College at Burlington County Board of Trustees appointed Thomas J. Czerniecki, the accomplished chief executive officer of Evesham Township, to serve as senior vice president of Operations and Administration.

“Mr. Czerniecki is one of the most talented administrators in New Jersey and will certainly help us to provide exceptional educational opportunities as affordably as possible,” Acting President Michael Cioce said.  “Tom has a proven record of success in Burlington County and we are excited that he is joining our senior leadership team.”

Czerniecki has twice served as Evesham Township manager – currently since 2014 and previously from 2007 to 2012. His accomplishments include:

  • Implementing a strategic plan that includes eight redevelopment projects with property valued at $85 million.
  • A multi-year budgeting approach that has stabilized property taxes and improved the township’s bond rating.
  • A new health insurance program that has stabilized costs for both employees and the township.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to serve students and make New Jersey’s top-ranked community college even better,” Czernieki said. “Rowan College at Burlington County has dramatically improved the college experience and I look forward to further enhancements that will continue to make RCBC stand out among its peers in terms of high-quality and affordable education.”

The Board of Trustees approved Czernieki’s appointment at Tuesday’s meeting. He will begin at RCBC on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

“Evesham is an extraordinarily well-run municipality, which speaks to Mr. Czerniecki’s ability,” Board Chair George Nyikita said.  “We have every confidence that Vice President Czerniecki will make the number one community college in New Jersey even better and more efficient.”

In addition to Evesham, Czerniecki has held township manager positions in Eastampton and Howell. He earned designation from the N.J. Municipal Management Association with the Young Professional Award in 1999 and Outstanding Manager’s Award in 2010. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Kean University.
