Rowan College at Burlington County Foundation's Holiday Auction Celebrates Spirit of Giving Nov. 20

Holiday Auction

The Rowan College at Burlington County Foundation will celebrate a winter wonderland-themed Holiday Auction, its first as RCBC, Friday, Nov. 20 at the Enterprise Center, to raise money for scholarships for RCBC students in need.
“This event is a major reason we can provide need-based scholarships that allow students to complete their degrees and improve their careers,” said RCBC President Paul Drayton. “The annual auction is very important to our college, the Foundation, and most importantly to our students.”
The auction, which is actually in its 27th year and serves as the Foundation’s principal fundraiser, will offer guests a mobile bidding option this year in addition to the chance to bid on complete “experiences.” There will be about 200 gift items up for bid including an Apple iWatch, jewelry, trips, autographed sports memorabilia, and the season’s top toys.
“Everyone who purchases a ticket, bids on an item or donates to the Foundation will be helping fund the priceless gift of an education for an RCBC student,” said RCBC Foundation Fund Development Committee Chair and Holiday Auction Event Co-Chair Amy Webb.
Last year’s holiday auction raised about $75,000 for Foundation scholarships and welcomed about 300 guests. With the addition of the mobile bidding option this year, the holiday auction event committee is hoping to surpass last year’s number.
“Each year, hundreds of RCBC students rely on the Foundation’s financial assistance to help them meet their goal of achieving an education,” said RCBC Foundation Acting Executive Director Brittany Quintana. “In the last three academic years, the Foundation has awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships to students in need.”
Tickets for the Foundation’s Holiday Auction are $125 and include hors d'oeuvres, holiday food stations, dessert, open bar, and bid number. Patron tickets can be purchased for $150 and also include recognition in the program book. Tickets can be purchased online at rcbc.edu/foundation/holiday-auction. The event starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20.
