Workforce Development Education Training Programs

Program Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A New Jersey resident.
  • High school diploma or HSE (High School Equivalency).
  • TABE test may be required. (A score of 9th grade minimum – may vary by employer.)
  • Satisfactory background check and drug screening for employment may be required.
  • Attend the Information Session and Employer Recruitment Session may be required.

Some programs are grant funded, if you meet the grant eligibility requirements there is no cost to you.

Women in Sustainable Employment (WISE)

The WISE program is a 32-hour career exploration and workplace skills development program for women interested in jobs in energy, utility or construction industries. The program includes an introduction to the utility, energy and trades and provides valuable preparation for a career in these fields. There is no cost to participate.

Energy Industry Fundamentals (EIF)

The Energy Industry Fundamentals certificate program provides an extensive overview of the energy and utility industry to prepare individuals for occupation-specific training and pre-employment testing. The modules for the program include: Basic & Emerging Principles and Concepts, Safety Compliance, Electric Power Generation, Electric Power & Natural Gas Transmission, Electric & Natural Gas Distribution. The training provides an industry recognized credential from the Center for Energy Workforce Development.

Transportation, Logistics and Distribution (TLD)

The TLD training program prepares individuals with the latest skills and certifications required for a career in Supply Chain Management. The modules are 40 hours each and lead to a certification by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). The modules include the following: Supply Chain Management Principles, Warehouse Operations, Transportation Operations, Demand Planning, Manufacturing and Service Operations, Inventory Management, Supply Management and Procurement and Customer Service Operations. Individuals will be connected with employers through the program’s prescreening and post-interviewing process.

911 Dispatch

This 80-hour program prepares individuals for entry-level positions in a 911 Dispatch Call Center. This training program provides industry-recognized credentials from the National Emergency Communications Institute (NECI), Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) and the American Red Cross (CPR). 

BCITAdvanced Manufacturing

This 340-hour program prepares individuals for entry-level positions in the advanced manufacturing industry. The training covers blueprint reading, applied math, job layout, hand and power tools, manual milling, manual lathe, grind- ing, band saw and CNC lathe and mill machines. The train- ing will provide OSHA 30 and NIMS Level 1 certifications. Individuals will be connected with employers throug

Cisco CCENT and CCNA Certifications

The course is 280 hours and results in a Cisco CCENT and CCNA certifications. This program includes the Cisco CCENT Routing and Switching and CCNA Networking curriculum. The course includes activities using Packet Tracer, hands-on lab work, and a wide array of assessments and tools.

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)

This 300 hour Programmable Logic Controllers Technician (PLC) program provides the basic technical skills and knowledge necessary to work with programmable logic control systems found typically in an industrial/manufacturing environment. The program covers the operation of various PLC control systems including both discrete and analog control devices. Modules include: Automation Operations, Basic Component Adjustments, Pick and Place Feeding, Gauging, Indexing, Sorting and Queuing, Servo Robotic Assembly, Torquing, Parts Storage and Multiple Station Control.

Pharmacy Technician Program

This 60-hour course will prepare individuals to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. Course content includes medical terminology, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and identifying drugs by generic and brand names. Individuals will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversion, dispensing, inventory control billing and reimbursement. The course prepares individuals for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam.

Certified Production Technician (CPT)

The Certified Production Technician (CPT) certificate program is an industry recognized, 150-hour credential provided by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC). This certification is based on industry-defined and federally endorsed national standards. The production technician program will give individuals the skills needed to begin a career in manufacturing. The CPT program consists of four individual certificate modules: Safety, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Processes & Production.

Mortgage Loan Officer

Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) is preparing individuals for the Mortgage Loan Officer exam and license. This 120-hour training program is held at RCBC.
