Save the Date - RCBC Annual Fashion Show - 5/6/2016The word “first” comes to mind with the completion of the recent Annual Fashion Show. It is our “first” show under the banner of Rowan College at Burlington County and it is the “first” time that we welcomed an industry panel of judges that presented fashion awards to our students.  Over this past year the Fashion Department has worked on creating partnerships with many fashion companies that have supported our students, not only at Fashion Show but also have opened their doors for field trips. This year the planning stages started well before the students began their design process.  The exciting challenge of creating a new format to the Fashion Show due to our increased class size has added to another “first”.

Rowan College at Burlington County students have proven to themselves that they have what it takes to succeed and many of the students are moving forward to complete their fashion degrees at a four-year institution.

The students have been working long nights and weekends on designing and sewing their original garment designs in preparation for the show. We celebrate their final work and honor the student talent and dedication of each garment design.

This year for the second time students in the department also participated in the “Power of the Purse” American Red Cross Charity Event. Over 40 students participated and created purses for the juried competition. 15 student purses were juried into the show that raised close to $ 1,000 for disaster services.

A special thank you to the support from RCBC that made this event possible.
