The Certified Nursing Assistant apprenticeship program prepares students for an entry-level position in the field.

This grant-funded Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) apprenticeship program provides classroom and hands-on training while earning a salary with a Rowan College at Burlington county employer partner.

A CNA performs many basic care tasks for patients, like grooming, dressing, bathing, eating and exercising. They also assist the nursing staff with medical tasks like taking blood, monitoring vitals with medical equipment and reporting patient behavior and wellbeing. Their role is to ensure patients are comfortable and well cared for while under the care of doctors and nurses in hospitals, outpatient centers and long-term care facilities.

Apprentices will be trained in the following areas:

  • Dementia care
  • Medical terminology
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • CNA
  • Personability

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will earn three nationally recognized industry credentials, including Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification, and US Department of Labor Apprenticeship Certification.

 

Qualifications for Grant Funding:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • New Jersey Resident
  • ​18-years of age or older
