This is the inaugural event in RCBC’s new “Global Film Series," which will bring showings and discussions of award-winning foreign-made and foreign language films from various regions of the world to campus.

The first film in the series is “Sunflower” (original Chinese title “Xiang Ri Kui”), a 2005 Chinese language film, which portrays the relationship over a multi-decade period of a father and son during and in the aftermath of Mao’s Cultural Revolution of the mid-twentieth century.

The viewing and discussion will be hosted and moderated by Instructor and Program Coordinator of Sociology and Anthropology, Dr. Brandon M. Chapman. RCBC’s “Global Film Series” provides a place to watch and discuss how recent and current social issues and problems in various nations of the world are expressed and illustrated through high-quality film and cinematography.
