Dr. Stephen M. Kotkin

The next event in our continuing "Global Studies Lecture Series" is a discussion on global mega-trends shaping our world with a leading scholar on this subject. Our guest for this talk will be Dr. Stephen M. Kotkin (John P. Birkelund '52 Professor in History and International Affairs, Princeton University) (Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University). Dr. Kotkin is a longtime leading scholar in the history and current state of geopolitics, the history and current affairs of Eurasia and Russia, international political economy, and is the author of numerous often cited books and articles including his recent volumes on Joseph Stalin. He will be speaking on major forces and actors that shape broad trends in geopolitics and global security and political economy, the characteristics and effects of those trends, and implications of these for the future.

This event is part of our "Global Studies Lecture Series", a series that brings world-renowned scholars and researchers to RCBC to discuss and engage with students and the public on crucial and current issues in global security, conflict, health, and environment. This series is made possible through a U.S. Department of Education "Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages Program" (UISFL) grant and this particular event is co-sponsored by the Hollybush Institute for Global Peace and Security at Rowan University. Your organizer and host is Dr. Brandon M. Chapman (Instructor and Department Chair of Anthropology and Sociology, RCBC).
