For many people, Coronavirus incites anxiety, uncertainty and sometimes panic. It also presents an opportunity to inform while drawing from the expertise of Rowan College at Burlington County faculty and staff who have specific insight into the many issues related to the current health emergency.

“These forums will provide a way to gather as a community to address the many concerns we have, while we practice social distancing to help curb the Coronavirus pandemic,” RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce said. “Our community has many legitimate questions and we hope to answer as many as possible in this forum. We welcome participation from students, staff and the community at large.”

Beginning March 18, Cioce will host weekly Facebook Live sessions to update the community and address questions with fact-based information. This Wednesday, at 2 p.m., Dr. Helene Paxton, who teaches Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology at RCBC, will join him to shed light on this pandemic through the lens of a seasoned epidemiologist. For nearly 25 years, Paxton’s company, BioGuidance, has provided consulting to help the healthcare industry prevent infectious diseases. She recently published “Making the Case for a Hands Free, Fogging Disinfectant” on LinkedIn and brings 40+ years of medical experience to the table.

“Our faculty members possess extraordinary expertise and we’re grateful that they are willing to volunteer their knowledge with the community,” Cioce said.

Tune in to Facebook Live at facebook.com/RowanCollegeatBurlingtonCounty to gain weekly insight and hear from experts of varying backgrounds, as we aim to make sense of this evolving outbreak.
