Rowan College at Burlington County will host the 15th annual Give Kids A Smile day on Friday, Feb. 1 in its Health Sciences Center at the Mount Laurel Campus.

Give Kids A Smile is a one-day program that provides free dental care to children ages 12 and younger who might not otherwise have access to oral health care. It is part of the American Dental Association’s national effort to bring attention to the number one childhood disease, tooth decay.

“Rowan College at Burlington County’s dental hygiene program, our alumni, volunteer dentists, faculty and students truly make an impact in the health of children in our community through the Give Kids A Smile program,” said Rowan College at Burlington County President Dr. Michael A. Cioce. “Children were able to receive more than $32,000 worth of dental treatment at RCBC last year and we look forward to continuing our tradition of helping to build a healthier community.”

Children can receive free preventive and emergency dental care, including cleanings, fillings, x-rays, and extractions on Give Kids A Smile day. RCBC will also be providing entertainment with the help of the college’s newest member of the campus community, Barry the Baron. In addition, there will be face painters, Seeing Eye puppies in training and characters like the tooth fairy.

“We are addressing a serious health concern in a kid-friendly way while creating a path to a life of better oral health,” said Linda Hecker, RCBC’s Director of Dental Hygiene.

Those interested in making an appointment for their child are encouraged to call as soon as possible. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 856-291-4215.

The RCBC Dental Hygiene Center is located at the Mount Laurel Campus in the Health Sciences Center at 1000 College Circle.
