What does it mean to be essential during a global pandemic? It means putting the lives of others before your own and stepping up in a huge way.

Join Rowan College at Burlington County at 1 pm, on Wednesday, May 6, as we invite essential workers Charvas Singleton and John Conte to our eighth Facebook Town Hall. Singleton and Conte will shed light on their experiences working in the transportation and logistics sector during this time.

Singleton, a graduate of RCBC’s Supply Chain Management program, has been a driver since 2015. However, over the past several weeks, his position has gained new meaning, as he delivers medical equipment to hospitals throughout New York City. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has hit close to home for him, as both his mother and grandmother were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Conte, Director of Logistics and Operations at Holman Parts Distribution (an RCBC employer partner), supports 7,000 employees working remotely across the country. He’ll speak to the benefits of recession-proof careers and how the logistics sector has been impacted by the pandemic.

As always, we welcome your questions throughout the livestream and at rcbc.edu/coronavirus.
