You know you’ve made it big when they create an ice cream flavor in your honor! That’s exactly what happened when Rowan College at Burlington County partnered with Vincent’s Homemade Ice Cream to craft Barry’s Berry Brownie. The limited-edition flavor combines seasonal black raspberries with brownies and commemorates RCBC’s 50th anniversary.
Over 150 candidates from 51 countries will become citizens during the ceremony. RCBC students Nene Balde, Edralyn Jimeno and Wilson Baez will sit among them.
It was in the late 1960s when Alice Marsh walked into the unemployment office and left with paperwork to attend Burlington County College. At the time, Alice had courageously left behind an abusive relationship and was the single mother of three children. Although she didn’t graduate until several decades later, she ended up earning multiple degrees and remains a part of the community.
“I didn’t know RCBC had so many specialized clubs on campus,” Side said. “I used to work 60-70 hours a week and didn’t have time for extra activities, but once I saw the seed packaging event, I knew I could help the college.”
"With the way that technology is evolving, I thought it would be a great idea to learn how to secure a company’s system instead of just managing it," Baez said. "I was happy to find that RCBC offers an amazing Cybersecurity program and that they would also give me the chance to apply for the 3+1 program, which allows me to get a full bachelor’s degree on the same campus.”
I truly believe the success I am experiencing today is rooted in the excellent educational foundation I built at RCBC,” LaPorte said. “My advice to students is to be open and try everything. You never know when you might find something you love by taking a class in a subject you don’t know much about.
We’re thrilled to partner with Cristina and offer her creative T-shirt design in our store. It perfectly captures the unique spirit of the RCBC community.
In class, I recently made French Apple Tart, which really put me in the fall mood, as I sliced up the juicy granny smith apples and smelled their tartness baking in the oven. The apple compote filling was soft but not too chewy, while the apples on top were cooked but still had a nice crispness to bite into.
