“My entire experience was exceptional,” Pedano shared. “I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I got the same education through RCBC that I would have if I went to Johnson and Wales or the Culinary Institute of America. From the cost and financial standpoint, the Culinary Center in Mount Holly really delivers and got me to where I wanted to be.”

“The whole program was a memorable experience! To be able to work hands-on with the machines in my field as a group and discovering the trade secrets that help me in my everyday job was truly fulfilling,” Miller said. “The most memorable experience overall was being able to pull through as a whole during the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We had the support from RCBC’s Workforce Development team every step of the way until the end!”

“There are several aspects of this event that bear importance to me,” RCBC’s Director of Culinary Programs Desmond Keefe said. “First, this event is very special to me because my father passed away from colon cancer. Awareness is so important for prevention. In his case, once he was diagnosed, it was too late for treatment. Secondly, any time I have an opportunity to give students a chance to compete, I get very excited -- especially this year because the winning student will enter their recipe in the Mount Holly Fire and Ice competition in 2022. Finally, The Deborah Heart and Lung Institute is an important partner for us, and I am thrilled to have them as a big part of this event.”

“I retired from Lockheed Martin and wanted to work with youth,” Mance said. “I started substitute teaching at local school districts and took an adjunct position at RCBC and liked it. A full-time position opened up, and here I am.”

“When I hire an instructor, I like to know that their focus is on the students,” Wilson said. “I get to know my students, and I do it quickly. But we also need to continue to create relationships with community employers and allow students to have direct connections with companies. One of the things that I like to do is invite guest engineers to the classroom to take over the lectures. I also plan to bring student projects to engineering societies and conventions to increase their exposure.”

“It was here that I met Professor Dave Wilson, who has guided me along this incredible path,” Schoopachevich said. “He saw my dedication and strong work ethic and sent all the different job opportunities my way. It wasn't until the second or third job offer that I was able to get an actual interview, which happened to be an intern position at none other than Lockheed Martin! I had my interview, and it went wonderfully. I am proud to say on June 28, I started at Lockheed as an intern, and on September 7, I became a full-time engineering technician for the company. I always believe everything happens for a reason, and it is the people you meet in life that also create your destiny. I am forever grateful for Professor Wilson’s goodwill and selfless determination to help a student achieve his dreams of success.”

“I went to school in Delran for most of my life, so RCBC has always been in my peripheral,” Brotz said. “I am transferring to The College of William & Mary for the spring 2022 semester, but being the oldest of five kids, it was a great affordable option for me and allows me to work full time, as well. I am taking all online classes, but all of my professors are fantastic and have made learning a very enjoyable experience!”
